We are currently looking for volunteers to provide programs and help fund our program. Please contact the library if you can help!
The Clark County Library’s Summer Reading Program for 2018 will be themed “Libraries Rock.” This program includes two components: events and activities to entertain and educate children and a rewards program for reading! Both of these components will be offered at the Arkadelphia and Gurdon library branches.
The 2018 events series will include a weekly storytime, a weekly craft program, and a weekly event/activity. The events and activities are currently in the planning stages, but will include visits from the zoo, a magician, musicians, and more!
Reading during the summer months is so important! Children who read during the summer are better prepared for school in the fall and those who do not are often several months behind. Because of this we fight Summer Slide by encouraging kids to read though games and incentives. This year local children will receive books as prizes for completing their reading challenges.
To register for the Summer Reading Challenge you can stop by the library or register online here: http://bit.ly/clarkchallenge18form. If you register at the library, you will recieve a paper reading log to track minutes read. If you choose to participate online, after you register, you can log minutes read here: http://bit.ly/clarklibsummer18.
